Yes, there is big news to report. Against Andrew's wishes I want to make everyone aware of his latest accomplishment (he is far less excited about this than the rest of us).
Tuesday, Andrew was made first chair in the school orchestra. This is especially impressive when one considers that he is only in sixth grade and he is competing against all the seventh and eighth graders. His orchestra leader told Rosie that he is musically gifted. He does seem to be extremely talented. See for your self on the attached video of him playing the piece he did for his recital on Monday -- Mosquito Dance by Mendelssohn .
What do you think?

drew! that is the total bomb! your performance was fabulous. you sound great (with some talented plucking). you will go far with this if you keep it up, eh? first chair!
Andrew, I'm very, very impressed. The violin is a difficult instrument. Not just anyone can play it. I agree with your teacher. You are most certainly musically gifted. I hope you'll keep it up for a long, long time. Maybe you can teach me someday. I would like to learn to play the violin.
Good job on the piano Rosie. You're so gorgeous and talented!
Drew, you rock! I don't care so much about the first chair thing, but your love of music is really inspiring! I love to watch your expression as you play...it shows that you really "feel" the music..that is not something everyone has. Thanks for sharing your gift and thanks to your dad for putting it on the web so we could all benefit!
That is awsome Drew, congratsulation. It sounds awsome, and it is cool that you can memerioze so many pieces. Great job everyone.
