Introducing Winifred Grace
Grace was born Monday morning after an intense, but short labor and delivery. Julie was amazing through it all. We had a great midwife (the same that delivered Joyce) and a great doula, a good friend of ours that has mentored Julie as a doula and childbirth educator - a laboring dream team. Joyce got to play with her friends all morning, which she was way happier about, and then came home to her new sister. The past few days have been blissful, both inside and out. Joyce and I have had some fun outings while Julie and Grace slept. Julie even felt so good after this birth that she joined us for a little walk down the street!
We're even more thrilled to have a name for our little girl. Winifred Grace Searcy. She was born on the 6 year anniversary of her great-grandma, Winifred, so we thought that name was fitting. The name Grace had been on the back of Julie's mind throughout the pregnancy and surfaced after all other names we had picked out just wasn't fitting. We think the name Grace is a beautiful blessing to give to this warm, sweet, little girl. She's just perfect!
