We've really disappeared from the internet as we've been trying to find balance between John working full time (way more than full time actually) and Joyce and I going to graduate school. I noticed too that we haven't taken many pictures of Joyce this fall. Which is another reason we should live close to family because I have no doubt that Joyce's past two months would be much better documented if we did. Still, I wanted to offer up a little glimpse into Joyce these days.
Recently Joyce has a friend that she likes to have around. It's a stuffed pink pig that mom gave her. When we are leaving the house, Joyce calls out for pink pig and tells her "Come on pink pig." You can see here pink pig goes on excursions with us:

Joyce loves reading and will insist upon doing it almost anytime of the day. I can often get some homework squeezed in if I pile a big stack of books by her and sit her on her own chair. She'll read to herself, out loud, these very long narratives in a language I don't totally follow for almost 40 minutes sometimes. She really loves to read to pink pig. She makes sure that pink pig is sitting by her knee in a way that ensures pink pig can see the books. (She also loves the dog pajamas that Emilie gave her.)
